Steve Brine MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health and Primary Care, visiting the stand
There was substantial interest in the work of the Cancer Vanguard from those attending the 2017 Britain Against Cancer conference.
The annual event, hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer (APPGC) in central London on December 5, brought together policy makers, people affected by cancer, commissioners, providers, charities and MPs to discuss the future of cancer services.
As well as speeches from Cally Palmer, National Cancer Director, Professor Chris Harrison, National Clinical Director for Cancer, and Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health, the APPGC launched the report of its cancer inquiry, Progress of the England Cancer Strategy: Delivering outcomes by 2020?
The conference provided a useful opportunity for the Cancer Vanguard team to showcase the breadth of our work to visitors to our stand, who included Steve Brine MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health and Primary Care. We were able to provide them with information and literature covering every aspect of our work, from prevention to living with and beyond cancer, from early diagnosis to the improved use of biosimilar medicines
